Dr. Yasmin Mahmood has over 16 years of experience in small animal medicine and surgery. In addition to in-hospital services, she has been doing small animal housecalls in Southern New Jersey since 2016. Her love of the traveling veterinarian lifestyle started in 2008 when she started her veterinary career as a mobile equine and large animal veterinarian. After a year of large animal medicine, she changed gears to small animal medicine and surgery. Her clients have ranged from privately owned pets to animal shelter pets from AAC in Lindenwold, a local greyhound rescue group, cat rescue organizations and many loving people that take care of semi-feral cat colonies.
In 2023, she opened her own mobile veterinary clinic. The custom designed Ford Transit mobile clinic has an inviting home-like interior and boasts a spacious refrigerator to protect vaccines and medications, microscope, centrifuge and portable blood work machines. There is an exam table for smaller pets, ample lighting for examinations (or they can be examined in the home), air-conditioning, heating, solar panels to provide eco-friendly power to the clinic, and a large mobile pharmacy of medications.
She resides in southern NJ on a small farm with her husband, two daughters, and several furry (and feathered) friends. Her home and farm and home to several cats, dogs, goats, horses and chickens.
